چکیده

Seed deterioration is when a seed loses its vigor and eventually viability. viability an important trait that directly influences seedling emergence crop yield. The rate of varies on several factors. Our main aims were to express the methods for testing deterioration, factors influencing aging, stages changes associated with Practical approaches overcome role reactive oxygen species during aging. From this investigation, it can be concluded high temperatures relative humidity hasten degradation seeds. An increase in loss leachate, drop respiration rates ATP production, enzyme activity, organelle structural breakdown are often seen as seeds age. Various cause but probably oxidative damage brought by free radicals (ROS). Protein oxidation, lipid peroxidation, chromosomal abnormalities, DNA all induced ROS, which have critical interactions any macromolecule biological significance. In early imbibition, some repairs may occur, will lose their within short period. retrieved through different priming exogenous application plant growth regulators.

Hybrid sunflower seed yield, composition and deterioration after chemical desiccation

The impact of chemical desiccation on yield showed contrasting results depending on seedmoisture content at the time of application. Its effects on seed deterioration are still unknownand could be modified by seed composition. Objectives were to evaluate the impact of chemicaldesiccation on: i) hybrid sunflower seed yield and composition at harvest time, ii) seeddeterioration during long-term s...

Review on physiological aspects of seed deterioration

Seed ageing is influenced by two environmental factors, RH and temperature. The deterioration of the stored seed is a natural phenomenon and the seeds tend to lose viability even under ideal storage conditions . Autooxidation of lipids and increase in the content of free fatty acids during storage period are the main reasons for rapid deterioration of seed of oil plants. Accelerated ageing has ...

Impact of Storage Fungi on Soybean Seed Deterioration in Different Storage Conditions and Seed Moisture Content

DOR: 98.1000/2383-1251.1398.6.65.11.1. 1578.1585 Extended Abstract Introduction: Understanding the complex characteristics that control the life span of the seed has ecological, agricultural and economic importance. Inappropriate storage conditions after harvesting destroy a large part of annual yield partly due to microbial activity in the storage. Damage from storage fungi varies based ...

Relevance of amadori and maillard products to seed deterioration.

The possible role of Amadori and Maillard reactions in the deterioration of dry seeds was investigated using model systems and whole soybean seeds, Glycine max cv Hodgson. In model systems of glucose plus an enzyme (lysozyme), the production of Amadori products was accelerated by higher temperature and relative humidity. The reaction between glucose and lysozyme at 50 degrees C, 75% relative hu...

Seed Quality Deterioration Due to Temporal Variation of Biotic and Abiotic Factors in Cucumber

Cucumber seeds were taken to assess the effect of temporal variation on the seed quality. Seeds were stored in three types of containers, such as metal (tin), polythene bag, and cloth bag. The containers were stored at room temperature and ambient relative humidity around three months. Seed quality factors viz., moisture content, germination percentage, vigor index, percentage of abnormal seedl...
